Mommy-to-be Carrie Underwood didn't let her first pregnancy, announced in September, stop her from working through a whirlwind of costume changes at Wednesday night's Country Music Awards. She wore a cream-colored Lorena Sarbu gown with a short-in-the front, long-in-the-back hem on the red carpet, switched to a fluffier short gown for her introductory jokes with co-host Brad Paisley, and kept right on changing — to a short silvery number, a sky-blue princess gown, an emerald-green dress with flowing Stevie Nicks sleeves, a red one-shouldered toga-style offering and more.

Underwood wasn't the only country idol to pull something dazzling out of her closet. Metallics and black gowns were popular, and slinky was often the style of the night. But Meghan Trainor was all about that bright blue, and Nicole Kidman was lovely in lace.
