2015 AFCON: CAF to name new host tomorrow
Morocco had officially written to CAF requesting for the postponement of the tournament till June 2015 or January 2016 because of fears over the Ebola outbreak. The request was, however, rebuffed by the continental football governing body and it gave the Moroccan federation an ultimatum to confirm its readiness to host the championship as originally scheduled, which the latter has failed.
CAF has remained resolute that there will be no change in the dates of the competition which is scheduled to be played between 17 January and 8 February of next year.
Ghana, South Africa and Egypt are among the countries that indicated interest to host the event in place of Morocco should the latter eventually decide not to host the tournament.
