According to Sahara Reporters, the scene was captured by a resident of Mubi Junction in the state.
Army and civilians fleeing from Boko Haram attack
Residents of Michika and several other towns and villages were said to have started fleeing their homes, after the insurgents repelled military’s attempt to recapture Madagali.
Boko Haram has been advancing and claiming of more territories as part of its caliphate.
The Nigerian army has been struggling to curb Boko Haram attacks and recapture the towns overrun by the dreaded sect.
Sources claimed that the military finally recaptured Bama town, forcing insurgents out of the area, after about a week of violent fights. This report was officially confirmed by Nigerian authorities, saying Bama had been recaptured by the military.
Although, the insurgent through its spokesperson, Abu Zinnira had debunked the report, claiming they were still in full control of Bama and Borno state.
